The RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) exams are highly competitive national-level tests in India, conducted to recruit personnel for various technical and non-technical roles within the Indian Railways.

Key RRB Examinations

The major recruitments are categorized under different Centralized Employment Notifications (CEN):

  • RRB NTPC: For non-technical categories like Junior Clerk, Station Master, Goods Guard, and Commercial Apprentice. Divided into Graduate and Undergraduate level exams.
  • RRB ALP & Technicians: For technical staff.
  • RRB Group D (Level-1): For basic track maintenance and operational helper roles.
  • RRB JE / DMS / CMA: For Junior Engineers, Depot Material Superintendents, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistants.
  • RPF: For Constable and Sub-Inspector roles in the Railway Protection Force.

Eligibility & Exam Structure

  • Eligibility: Varies by post. Minimum age is typically 18 years. Educational requirements range from 10th pass (Group D) to 12th pass (NTPC Undergraduate) and Bachelor’s degrees (NTPC Graduate / JE).
  • Selection Process: Typically involves a multi-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by skill tests, Document Verification (DV), and a medical fitness test depending on the post.

Exam Schedule & Updates

RRB exams are ongoing throughout the year. For example, remaining sessions of the RRB NTPC Undergraduate (CEN 07/2025) CBT-1 take place in June 2026, and RRB Group D (CEN 09/2025) exams are also expected.
