⚙️ RRB NTPC Selection Process

To secure a job, candidates must clear a multi-stage selection workflow: [3, 8]

  1. First Stage (CBT-1): Screening test common for all posts.
  2. Second Stage (CBT-2): Separate exam based on difficulty level of posts.
  3. Skill Test: Typing Skill Test or Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (only for specific operational/clerical roles).
  4. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Final verification of credentials and physical health parameters. [3, 9, 10, 11, 12]

📝 RRB NTPC Exam Pattern

Both CBT stages consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every incorrect answer. The exam duration for both stages is 90 minutes. [13, 14, 15, 16]

🔹 CBT 1 Exam Pattern (100 Questions)

  • General Awareness: 40 Questions
  • Mathematics: 30 Questions
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 Questions [10, 17]

🔹 CBT 2 Exam Pattern (120 Questions)

  • General Awareness: 50 Questions
  • Mathematics: 35 Questions
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 35 Questions [5, 10]

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Undergraduate level posts: Minimum 12th Pass or equivalent standard.
    • Graduate level posts: A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university. [2, 3, 11]
  • Age Limits: 18 to 33 years for Undergraduate posts and 18 to 36 years for Graduate posts (with standard category-wise age relaxations). [3, 18]
