📅 Frequency and Attempts

• Two Sessions: The NTA conducts the exam twice every year, usually as Session 1 (January) and Session 2 (April). [13, 14]

• Attempt Limit: Students are allowed to take the JEE Main exam for a maximum of three consecutive years from passing their Class 12 exams. [17]

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

• Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed or be appearing in their Class 12 or equivalent qualifying board examination. [18]
• Mandatory Subjects: Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in Class 12, alongside Chemistry, Biology, or a technical vocational subject. [18, 19, 20, 21, 22]
• Admission Requirement: While there is no age limit to write the exam, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs typically require candidates to secure at least a 75% aggregate score (65% for SC/ST categories) in their board exams for institutional seat allocation. [18, 23, 24, 25, 26]
